Bright-Eyed and Bushy-Tailed

If I was a bushbaby, I’d be making my humble home in a natural hole in a tree, preferably an acacia, one with thick leaves and branches to protect me from predators such as genets, owls, snakes, smaller cats and leopards. I’d also love the taste of tree sap and catch the occasional insect – a grasshopper or moth, perhaps in mid-air.

Bush-babies are much easier heard then seen…

The first time I saw a bushbaby was while staying at Nata Lodge in Botswana, where they are fed by the lodge staff in the evenings, excitedly leaping from tree to tree in anticipation.
